Unless it's an Audigy Platinum EX, nope.

Then again, even if it was an EX, I think I'd keep my GTXP... :)

I agree with Sugadaddy but it also depends. I make use of my breakout box, but if you don't have a 5.1 or greater speaker setup, going with an Audigy will yield you only benefits--you should get cleaner sound reproduction in all uses. So if you have a 4.1 or less speaker set up and don't really make use of hte breakout box, go ahead and swap.

i have those hercules 5.1 speakers, and i really dont need those extra fancy ports, so i was just wondering if its worth it, 80% on gaming and 20% on mp3, and i dont have a via chipset.

which one has better eax, for the current games, like counter strike, operation flashpoing, max payne, and aureal is dead so dont worry about a3d.

and how are the mp3s

Why would you? The Game Theater XP is better! They both have EAX support and basically equivalent sound quality (I prefer CS 4630 based cards to the audigy, but whatever). As for A3D--every game is still programmed with A3D support, and will be for a few years to come, especially since all non-sound blaster cards have A3D support.

I wouldn't make that trade. EAX HD lookds interesting, but overall EAX just plain sucks. I've gone from an Aureal SQ2500 which is probably still the best gaming card to an Audigy Gamer, and as soon as I heard EAX in my games I just went straight away to disable it.

don't do it. the box is everything. besides, numerous problems i have seen/heard with the audigy. i won't mess with another creative product. they aren't for me.

Are you happy with your XP?

If the Hercules XP does everything you want it to - why bother?

The SQ2500 was an amazing card. Too bad Creative had to bankrupt Aureal...

I wouldn't go for the audigy, but instead I would keep the GTXP. ;) I've owned the Audigy MP3 version, and I prefer the GTXP since it has the breakout box, and it capture video better. (Audigy makes the sound out of sync. :( )

And besides, the GTXP is worth more! ;)

one last bump, since all the upcoming games will support eax HD, you know, and hercules has no more APIs, and i really just have a pair of 5.1 analog speakers, so the breakout box dont seems to do much for me. and when playing music audigy can do dolby digital in software mode.
