K, what do you prefer, whatever funriture you can get , or modern i.e. futons, or milk crates? Or water bed? lets talk about furniture a little.

I've got a bed, queen, a low bureau with snake and fish on it . and an armoire (cheap chipboard) and a nice couch.

ALSO, your computer desk, is it a plane jane, or is it a bench compiled of different parts, and extensions? or some wood over buckets?

LAst change,
I have a friend who's looking to buy a futon bunk bed, what things should I suggest she look for? for safety (she has a young son) not climbing, but should she worry about it unfoldin, changing position while some ones on it? say it doesn't have a good latch, so it might move and he could fall off/get trapped someplace. And whats better wood or metal frame?

I prefer antiques over new... Prices are often similar if you are buying quality new furniture, and antiques will not lose value like new will.

Just had our new couch and chair delivered on Saturday. Living room furniture consists of a big leather couch and a very comfy leather chair and ottoman.

For the bedroom we have a small dresser and an armoire.

We focus on practically and function, not looks.

We have a nice leather couch, love seat, and chair combo in the living room. We have a king size four poster bed. It is huge. Most of our furniture is modern, except that my wife likes to get some antiques every once in a while. We have a few antique chests and tables...

Yep ... estate sales .... & used furniture stores ....

fabric covered stuff >> no go

wood >> you find classic pieces for a song. also 'garage sales', many are not junk... slow is the word .... have an idea of what you want...

beds ? >> only need the trim, head board & foot ...

Desks >>> super buy >> used office furniture stores ... few yrs ago banks & S&Ls were dumping due to bankruptsy, still a good place to look... 10cents on the dolllar compared to new.

I just had a new sectional sofa delivered Saturday. It has 2 recliners, a sleeper, built in massager/phone/refridgerator/RJ45 Jack and Surge suppressor....it is the ultimate geek couch....I love it. 🙂 🙂 🙂

I've seen those warcleric, musta cost a mint though, and I don't have room for something that big either, any wheres.

Estate sales are the best place to find anything! 🙂

My friend's uncle got a beautiful kingsize four-post bedframe, oak, from an estate sale for almost nothing...something like twenty dollars. He also got an older (early 80s) Sony Projection TV setup. The projector is in perfect condition, and it has about an 8 foot screen. That was only about 40 dollars. Unreal.

WOW, but I might not find anything like the futon bunk bead I'm looking for, but I'll hafta keep my eyes open for them estate thingys.

futons ??? no go at estate sales ...

build the frame yourself & buy the pad only

say 'hide-a-bed' & 'sleeper sofa' & in-laws sleep in motels. Newer blow-up air mattresses are mucho bettero !

IN laws? I don't have any, yet. Just trying to think of something for the Gf. She's got a little kids bed still pretty much.

furnite is wicked expensive.

cheap stuff: check out roomstogo.com (or you local).

of course everyone on the block has rooms to go furniture, so theres no style in it at all.

i went to a local furniture place called stylus in atlanta, they had a big sale, and i picked up a chair and couch for about $1400 delivered, marked down from about $2500 originally. it looks pimp and feels great.

Next i have to find a dining room table + chairs, i expect to spend about $500 at the minimum for plain jane, and about $1000 for stylish modern stuff.
