Hello Fellow Overclockers,
This is my first attempt at a poll.
I am interested in how successful people have been at increasing their FSB speed on the KT7/KT7-Raid. I found that I am stable at 103mhz with 10x multiplier (800mhz tbird and kt7-raid) for a 1030mhz action-packed computing thrill ride.
Thanks for your feedback!

Losty, your guess is as good as mine. I saw other guys with this setup and it seems to work fine. otoh, my 800 Tbird cant take more then a 110 fsb :(

i can only do 107. 110 runs but i get program errors. i think the RAM craps out at that speed.

whoops gotta edit my profile.

my ram runs at 140 mhz cas2.

FSB is 107. use the HOST + CLK option. this runs it at FSB + 33= 140 mhz.

If you are running at 107/35 with the RAM at HST CLK + PCI CLK, your RAM is at 142MHz. The PCI is at 35 which puts your RAM at 135MHz + 7 = 142

Thx

So do I need a 133Mhz sdram that can handle 142Mhz in this case ?

If I choose not to use this HST CLK + PCI CLK, can my overclock go as high (9.5*106 for example) ?

Do my performances drop if I choose not to use it ?

i believe that using the hclk + pciclk increases the performance of your system in the fpu area and definitely in memory performance and some others...for my system using this option gives a better yield for increasing the fsb...

Yes, you usually have to have some quality PC133 to run at 140+ MHz. If you already have some quality PC100, you may be able to run it at 133MHz+ set at CAS3. It is just something that you will have to try at different settings and timings if you already have the PC100.

Good quality PC133 is still pretty inexpensive right now, and it is a good time to purchase it if you want some extra performance. If you choose to run at just HST CLK, you will lack performance since your RAM will only be running at the FSB speed you have set. For example if your FSB is set at 106, and you have the RAM at HST CLK, the RAM is only running at 106MHz.

Thanks for your explanations.

Im thinking about getting one duron to break the 1ghz : maybe a 700 to be sure to succeed :) And also this kt7-raid as i need the 8 ide ports. Seems some pretty cool stuff, will change from my bh6 + 300a@450 !

Nobodys prolly gonna believe this, I hardly do. I can run my RAM over 150 mhx at CAS 2. Well, I could. Had 128 meg of Infineon (Dunno about Infineon, but this stick is just amazing...) which would run around 160 all day. Then, added another stick of 128 meg Crucial, and anything over around 138 mhx causes it to not even load windows....Anyways, so before adding the Crapucial, I was running at 115 on the FSB, and could do 117 on a good day.
