Poll for Canadians: Which political party do you support?

None really... there all corrupt like the Canadian Politics of today...

But anything other than the Liberals...

Yeah, we got a marijuana party, headquartered here in Vancouver hehe. I've even seen their head office with my own eyes, so you can believe it's true 🙂

I'm sorta partial to the Canadian Alliance, so long as they get their act cleared up. I guess there were bound to be problems with a new party though. If you ask me though, the Liberals haven't really done a BAD job.

Besides the fact on how the Auditor General can't account for billions of dollars...

I suppose I'll vote for Canadian Alliance, but I'd rather vote Progressive Conservative. Being in BC, a PC vote is a waste, however, a Canadian Alliance vote is also a waste. We need to get the PC's and CA's together or the Liberal's will run things forever. 😱

Best of luck with the upcoming elections.
I just pulled this off of the Canadian Alliance Site. Pretty disturbing if you are Canadian.

Are you thinking, ?The Americans know less about us than Vancouverites know about Spuzzum. We should just tell them we are their biggest trading partner and they are ours.? True, but what does it mean? According to Minister Pettigrew?s own department, one in three Canadian jobs ?is linked directly to trade.? Value of exported goods and services (85 percent to the U.S.) comprises 45 percent of our gross domestic product (GDP). Contrarily American Library of Congress reported in 1998, ?NAFTA?s effect on the U.S. economy has been relatively small. Foreign trade itself accounts for about 14 percent of GDP.? For 2001 Library of Parliament estimates U.S. exports to Canada at 2.6 percent and imports from Canada at 3 percent of their GDP. Only 1.3 percent of total U.S. employment came from exports to Canada.
Ouch!

I do like the part that goes on to say that "Half" of all Americans are too ignorant for ?coping with the complex demands of everyday life and work in OECD countries.?

Man, it just does not stop with you guys. 😎

Jimbo: Hehehe, and if you became a Canadian citizen for some reason, you'd find that the Canadian Alliance is Canada's version of the Republicans, albeit not quite as Right Wing.

I live in BC personally, and after what Glen Clarke did. My oh my, the day I vote for the NDP again will....

I was surfing through their web site and they looked like a pretty normal bunch.
What are the big differences between The Canadian Alliance and The Conservative Party anyways?

I have a strange feeling that my name is on some Canadian border advisory that says "Detain For Immediate Deprogramming". 🙂

The CA started off as the Reform Party, they came from the west and that's where they have the strongest support, the conservatives are the traditonal right wing party. The conservatives have very little support, while the CA has very little support outside of the west.

The thing is, over the last 15 eyars the reform/CA have been getting more and more support while the conservatives less and less, yet they are stil unwilling to join the CA, even in a coalition.

hmm.. none really IMO.

liberals: dont do anything, they sux0r.
conservatives: bunch of retards that spend money. (moreso than other parties 😉)
alliance (reform): weirdos. a least manning and the beast are gone. eww.
PQ: hahahhahaaha!
NDP: not really sure. they used to be all the rage with the west (farmers something. something) (medicare--right?)

we need some people that "make sh|t happen" 😀

I find it weird when people stay loyal to a party that did something great a long time ago, but has since completely changed its outlook and goals. If people actually knew what was happening before they voted, things might happen. (*note: im excluded as i cant vote for a few more months. no research needed on my part 😀)

I think if Ralph Klein knocked off Joe Clark as leader of the conservatives, it would be our only real hope at de throning the liberals.

at least "sh|t would happen"

tough medicine sucks, but you are better for it in the long run.

too bad ol ralphy isnt interested in federal politics.

You, my Canadian brothers and sisters can vote for whatever party you like. I would like to make one small suggestion, though. Vote for a party that will at least put some money into your military. Your boys are underequipped and underrepresented from what I have read lately. You guys rocked in WWII, but you seem to have neglected your boys in uniform in the interim.

Actually, I think the conservatives under charest got more votes in the last election than the CA did. They didn't win very many seats cause each representative was edged out by the liberal mp...

The Quebecers--a large portion of our population--absolutely despise military expenditures for the most part. Also, the Liberal Party has always had a habit of just sucking the money out of the Armed Forces, presumably for good causes, but in reality for a lot of their own purposes. The government is disgustingly corrupt.

However, if we did jack up military expenditures, much of it would be wasted. Case in point: The Armed Forces finally got permission to upgrade our CF-18 Hornets, 2 companies bid to do the job in under a year. A respectable Newfoundland company offered 3/4 of the price than Bombardier wanted, and the government still gave the contract to Bombardier(Quebec Company...). Then, to no surprise at all, several years later now all of the CF18 Hornets here in Western Canada have not even been close to being upgraded yet, and all the Eastern Canadian CF-18 Hornets were upgraded long ago. Furthermore, the government poured way more money into Bombardier than what was agreed in in the contract, because of Bombardier asking for it...

AFAIK, Chretien (or Cretin) promised more money for the armed forces when he was elected in 93, but of course, nothing happened, it was just lie of many.

Damn frogs! Even the ones living in the land of our beloved neighbor Canada can't seem to get along with anyone else.

You non-French Canadians need to start breeding more voters. It might help if you start dating the French Canadian girls and incorporating them into your society. If necessary, you could always buy the girls away from their families with a truckload of snails and frogs legs. 😉

And no more GST...

Have you looked into Fascism?
It would save a lot of time and trouble as opposed to that coalition forming problem.
They do have a history of cutting through the "Red Tape" and finding a final solution to problems. :Q
