POLL: FoosBall

Kelemvor

Lifer
This is a HUGE pet peeve of mine but, if you look at many Foosball tables for sale these days, most of the less expensive oens are coming with 3 goalies per side for some retarded reason. Where the hell did they get this idea from?

I think 3 is retarded and 1 is the only true way to go. What does everyone else think?

Found a good link that hugely debates this topic... Many pages of posts so get a comfy chair...

we have a Tornado... its a 1200$ table thats just a step down from the ones they use in the local bar... both tables have 3 goalies per side.

I only see single goalies on cheapo tables

Anyone that has been in the game for a while will surely know that a three man goalie is the professional standard.

Go to any decent foosball site and look at their tables or strategy sections and they all lead to three man.

You guys are behind..

Next... they'll come out with 5 wheeled car and have two steering wheels, and you'll pay 20 more Ks for it. We'll be the cheapies and take the 4 wheeled ones with just one steering wheel... Yep, that's what cheapskates like us do!

I've played foosball about 20 + years ago, and to this day, I still haven't played on a 3 goalies sissy table.

Agreed. I've been playing for about 15 yrs and have never seen a 3 man goalie. What kind of pansy needs 3 guys back there???

Yeah. That looks like the ever popular classic Foosball table setup. Side ball entry, 3-5-2-1 man setup, perfect.

EDIT: Wait a second. that table is backwards. You're supposed to play towards your right with your goalie (not goalies) on your left. Hmmm. Maybe they just reversed the image.

this has got to be the least sensical analogy i've ever heard!!! the 3 goalies are for faster-paced play. notice how the 2 cheapest tables have 10-score tabs as opposed to 5 on the more expensive tables?

I just think the extra 2 goalies get in the way. Especially if you've been raised on one goalie. Maybe they should make some tables with 1 on one side and 3 on the other so people can ahve whichever they need if they prefer different setups. heh.

Two steering wheels would be an added value to safety, so if you're choking on the ball that's kicked up by the third goaly, your passenger can take over. Fcuk it, why make three goalies, just have on big fat one so you don't even have to move. I can't wait till the day they put another two goalies in the soccer world cup. Hmm.. may be I should lobby for it.

If you have two heads attached to your neck, may be you would be more efficient. Just may be.

Man... I'm not even trying and it is funny. Just because there are all kinda craps that people come out with nowaday doesn't mean it's right. Granted that they can put as many goalies there as they want, but the fact is that it's far from the realistic game which foosball was based on, which is soccer. Sure, you can put a fcuking rocket engine on a truck and race with air planes, makes it fast right? Practical and sensible? No...

I'm sure you'll be one of the first idiot that would implant a chip in your head for "ID" if the time ever come because it's hip, and it's cool. So what, if some idiot brain wash you into thinking that slobbing the knob is updated, modern and "21st" century, you'll do it too? Well, in that case.... unzip....
