Poll: Fender or Gibson?

I've got a Les Paul Standard, but would really like to pick up a Strat. My dream guitar is Rick Nielsen's checkerboard Hamer Custom/Explorer.

I would have to say that Gibson has the better workmanship and sound.

For a slow bluesy solo, I'd say gibson.. but overall I prefer my Jackson guitar

Fender for sure.

Sure, they're not as expensive or as plush, but there's just something about a nice Fender Jaguar or Jazzmaster guitar that can make a grown man weep tears of joy.
