Lately I have been listening to Dragonforce like crazy. I find them to be an incredibly skilled group of individuals. Their songs are really long but they are so amazing at what they do it doesn't matter. Mostly it rocks for the layering of different instruments and the guitar solos are absolutely amazing.

Edit: For those who don't know Dragonforce is a British Power metal band, that sings about ridiculous crap like shadow mountains blazing with power.
 
i've heard them. i've heard better also.
the instrumentals are ok but there's something about the singer's voice i don't like.

Hansi Kursch from Blind Guardian has the best power metal voice ever. He's probablt my favorite male singer.

I've got a friend who got into wizard metal and had a band for awhile. He downloaded some Dragonforce on my computer.


Unfortunately I've been on an Old Crow Medicine Show kick, so that's not my kind of music at the moment
 
I'm not a big fan of power metal. It's too "happy" for me. I'd have to say the main reason I don't like Dragonforce is the singer's voice - there's just something about it that I don't like. Plus, all of their songs sound very similar (or at least have the same tone, I think).

I'm more of a proggressive metal kind of guy (Angra, Dream Theatre, Megadeth).
 
I voted for Yes but they suck, because you didnt include an option "Yes, but I couldnt care less"

I like LOTS of power metal bands, but DF is not one of them... too speedy for my taste, too repetitive, and theyve been doing the same thing for the past 3 albums.. boring
 
They're pretty hilarious, for the wrong reasons. It's the type of metal where I feel like its a contest over who can play the fastest, avoid of any thematic material or innovation. I much prefer avant experimentation that post-punk bands like Sonic Youth employed.
 
I love Dragonforce. So cheesy and all their songs sound the same (and I love all kinds of metal, even power metal, so for me to say that you know it has to be true) but they're fun to listen to.

They're great to listen to, and I hate to say I loathe how popular they've become..but much better power metal isn't getting nearly as much recognition.
