I have this friend who apparently has never experienced deja vu. Websters defines it as:

the illusion of remembering scenes and events when experienced for the first time

But trying to describe it to someone who has never had it is like trying to describe the taste of sugar. The Webster definition also does not include the 'freaked out' feeling that accompanies the experience.

So how many times have you experienced deja vu ? I believe I've had it at least 20 times myself.

If I defined this rhyme thru time, then I'll find
The steps and concepts are sublime
My mind reads the lines and thus goes between 'em
but often it seems I've already seen 'em
I've been em, I've done 'em, tasted 'em too
I'm thru; enough of this here deja-vu
Repeat? A loop not unlike this rhyme;
'Cuz the question now is, how do I define it this time?

:D

now i remember is was some sort of epileptic seizure in the temporal lobe or something. its also possible that its some sort of mistaking the past with the present.

Actually, I rather tend to believe the mind gets cross wired for a second and the info is stored to your memory, before it reaches your conscious mind.

for me when i experience deja vu, the events played out in real life are events i've already played out in my dreams. sometimes it is such unpredictible stuff... it just makes me wonder why.

I *never* use to get it, and I found the whole idea somewhat absurd (like something that was completely made up). However, in the last year or so I've had it at least 5-6 times. I guess my mind is starting to go. :(

I have times where I am sitting there and I can almost know for sure that this has happened before.
Freaks me out sometimes. I think I have ESPN or something :D

when i have it, im able to predict the events of the next 5 - 10 seconds exactly. so it cant be signals transferring from my eye to my brain faster.

I used to have them a lot several years ago back when I was in Junior High mostly, and maybe even some high school... haven't had it in a while though, but as I recall I always remembered seeing it in a dream and then seeing it in person, but for me it wasn't a series of events ever, it was just a flash of an image all the time, no movement, no audio, just a flat image, a split second in time... but a really cool feeling at least :D

Used to get it about once every 2 months I think, dunno what happened, but that's ok :D
