Yes. For some reason this word sounds more strongly than any of the
Idiot, Pigheaded, Stupid, Silly, Birdbrained, Dull, Fool

BTW.....how the fvck do I vote? I read the OP and no it doesn't offend me

Vote 'no'. The first option is there for people who want to vote before reading the post.

No, and as previously mentioned, people who are offended by these types words (gay, retarded, jewish, etc.), when they have no real reason to be ("My friend is gay!" doesn't count) piss me off.

If you're not a gay jewish retard, then don't bitch at me when I use those terms. :|

lemme try to help you understand why people get offended when you use those terms: you're probably using them to describe something you don't like. but gay, jewish, and retarded people can be pretty nice, and you're making them into insults. so yeah, i'm not gay or retarded, but i still take issue with you and others using those words out of their intended meaning because you're turning (or keeping, depending on your point of view) being gay or retarded into primarily negative things. also, for what it's worth, i'm jewish, and i'd rather you didn't use my religion as a way to disparage that which you don't like.

however, unlike those words, retard's meaning and intention was changed by those who abused it and also by those who took offense to it. if you call someone a oesbfobweofbweogfb, it'll only become a swear word or a banned word if there are people to take offense to it. did you also realize that birdbrained means retard? but because noone uses retard in favor of birdbrained, birdbrained, like you said, is not "felt" as strongly as retard to some people. It's all a matter of how often it is used gauged with the response it produces. thusly, birdbrained is no longer used because noone responds as they are "meant to" when called such a term. fool is also one. but again, being called a foold you can laugh off and the person calling you one is probally indeed a fool for not knowing a stronger insult, therefor, the insulter must come up with a better word to express his or her feelings. moving up the "dumb person" hierarchy, they come across retard or sh1thead. retard being used more is then expressed instead of fool.

not at all.

however when i hear people say "thats so gay" or "shut up fagg0t" that bothers me, and I'm as straight as they come. one of my coworkers is always like "thats so gay" when he is talkin about something he doesnt like. or say stuff like "man i hate that guy, he's such a f@g".

I think this guy is probably a gay guy himself, he's always talkin about gay stuff haha.

For some reason, eliminating the "that's so gay" phrase is a huge crusade on college campuses everywhere, and perhaps other facets of society.

People get offended WAY to easily, and have a difficult time comprehending that English is a living, thriving, and changing language.
