Im an "N" and it only offends me if used by a racist person. If the person inst trying to be racist than its ok most of the time.

If its being used in a racist way it does bother me (I'm white). Many African Americans don't care if it's used.

Same, unless it's said in a joking or fvck around way / telling a joke, I do find racism extremely offensive and I've once or twice stepped in when people have called black friends that.

Same goes with a lot of my chinese friends in Scotland, they call each other the C word a lot but it's a different story when someone white uses it in a serious offensive manner.

Oh and yeah, I'm white.

heh,
must be west coast thing or something. Sorta like the Jap thing...noone outside cali would know what you're talking about....

this thread reminds me of the lyrics in a song by this one hip hop performer...
:music: now i ain't got problems with you being yourself/
but when you front and use the 'n' word, it just don't help/
i might not trip, and your friends'll laugh at you/
but i know some real n***az that'll straight up slap you. :music:

I think the word is over emotionalized.

Black people get insane when they hear other-than-black people say the word.

I've been told I have a black ancestor despite being the whitest looking d00d you will ever meet.

Chris Rock can say it but if I do I am a racist? Whatever.

It doesnt offend me unless people use it to show off their racist beliefs. Since the majority has been saying what race they are, I'm white.

One thing that I am getting tired of though is black people calling eachother that. I understand the whole concept of "If we use it, it will have less effect/meaning for racists" but it's being overused. I swear it's used after every other word.
