i like the thing. MAKES IT REALLY EASY TO POST LIKE THIS. plus you could remap it to something more useful if you liked. but mostly if you were in unix or something.

This thread gets my vote for the lamest thread of the year. There are lots of people out there who use the Caps Lock key. I am one of them. I work in support and all the cases we create have to be in CAPS. To hold down the shift key to enter in every letter in caps would be plain silly considering on any given day we can type thousands and thousands of words. Now I agree that maybe the positioning could be changed it is silly to remove a key from the keyboard because you make alot of mistakes when you type. Take a typing class or something and maybe you wont hit the Caps Lock key so much erroneously.

Not only that, but if an application requires caps, and it doesn't take care of that for you, then how lazy was the programmer who wrote the app? In most modern languages you're looking at 1 line of code to change a text field to all uppercase.

I would say about 50% of the people in my company uses CAPS LOCK heavily, especially when they are accessing mainframe.

CAPS LOCK are also nice TO FLAME PEOPLE LIKE THIS !!!! :p

It is still in use and I don;t think the industry will get rid of it in the near future.

Windows Key? I use use that one heavily. WINDOWS + E, WINDOWS + M, WINDOWS + R, etc.

I agree the windows key is useful for opening explorer windows etc, what I just cant fathom is why they had to invent a whole new key for it?

Why not just use some key that was already there?
Or atleast not have it be a "Start menu key", thats one function thats absolutely, positively, entirely useless, but extremely annoying.

Windows Key sucks buttocks!

It takes me 0.3 seconds longer to reach from Alt to Ctrl while playing games, and that's extremely important. Screw that damn key! I use an old keyboard for all my crucial game-playing :)

Stupid Microsoft, why don't they add a special MOUSE button like "Start"? Idiots, they need to stop messing with my hardware.
