I sell the somewhat valuable components and either keep or give away the others.

No. The value drops so fast I would rather keep it than mess with it, but I have sold a few parts before.

Thanks for the reminder. I need to clean out my closet. I still have about 128 megs of 32M SIMMs that I used back in the 486 days. I think RAM was going for about $40 a meg back then so I guess I have about $5,000 worth in an anti-static bag somewhere in the closet. If anyone is interested I'm willing to take a loss on it. Just let me know.

I upgrade once every year or two but most of the time give the old parts to the family. But this year I'm doing a pretty big upgrade so I may sell my parts the help fund the build.
