All of the talk these days about banning cel phones while driving seems to be based on the fact that if cell phones were banned or required headsets, everyone could have two hand son the wheel while driving. Do you use 2 hands while driving? I never have 2 hands on the wheel unless it's incredibly bad driving conditions or something really weird is going on. So when talking on the phone or not, I always only have 1 hand on the wheel...

What about you?

Cruising: 1 hand at 12 o'clock
Turning: 1 or 2 hands depending on how I feel
Driving: 2 hands

Hrmm, it really depends on the road conditions. If its a nice day, and I am on the highway, usually one hand at 9 O'Clock or 3 O'Clock (I am not comfortable with one hand at 12 O'Clock). It it is less than ideal conditions I always utilize two hands. When turning I also always use two hands.

I don't think I've ever used two hands while driving. Sometimes I'll have one hand kind of sitting on my leg, wresting against the wheel at 5 o'clock or so but it's just kind of wresting there. Not really helping to hold the wheel.

I use one hand when driving, and turning... I turn like a trucker, circle motion lol. Just got my license, but I'm a confortable driver. I only use 2 hands when my parents are in the car, or it's real wet or slick on the roads :p

i've got an uncle who not only uses both his hands, but he literally rests his chest against the steering wheel (i kid you not)...he's definitely the worst driver i've had to sit in a car with. To top it off, he keeps telling me he's a "99% perfect driver" and is only flaw is that he's scared of driving

then again, i've also got an aunt who's screwed up her car an average of once a month (whether it be slamming into too many ditches and getting a flat, hitting parked cars, etc --- of course its never her fault). And THEN both her son (26 years old and still no drivers license because he's too cheap) as well as herself claim her to be the best driver in the world :)

i hate people who suck at something but still claim they're the best (in case you couldn't tell :))

I thought this was posted shortly before...

2 hands always. I never learned how to drive a car with 1 hand at 12oclock. Too much driving school time, always learned the proper mechanics...and I still turned out to be a crappy driver....been in several at fault accidents in my short driving career.

I drive with my right hand on 5:00. Sometimes with two fingers of my left hand at 8:00.

Those people scare me the most. Today I just saw one car that was completely stopped right before a merge into a highway and the driver couldn't go because cars kept coming and there was no way he could have gotten up to speed in such a short distance

I usually drive with one hand at 9 or 3 and maybe a finger or palm from the other hand, I'll ust lay it at the bottom of the wheel and not hold on or anything, otherwise I'll be chewing on my fingernail or pluck at my hairs or some other random ting.
