POLL: Do you tip for carry out food?

Suppose you get carry out from such a restaurant, but you pick it up at the bar. The only work the bartender does is take your money, Do you tip?

No, but I sometimes do at Sonic's. I heard they get paid less than minimum wage and hope for tips. Maybe someone could confirm or deny this...

You mean when they deliver, yes.

If I go and pick it up? no... except.. the chinese rest up the street has these two little girls working there.. they were freshmen when VeggieFrog was a Senior... if they are working, I will throw a dollar or two in the tip jar that is used for ppl who eat in.

Sonic yes. Late night drive thru, yes.

All other times, no.

Assuming you mean the Sonic Drive-in, well, they do come to your car and hand you your food, act as cashier, etc. Most people tip them.

servers make $2.13 per hour and get taxed on thier register receipts.... fast food workers make twice that.

Yeah, I do for takeout food. My regular takeout guys get everything just the way I want it, put everything in the bag they know I'll want, give me a beer if I get there before the food's done, etc.

I usually tip better on takeout or at sonic than I do when I sit down to eat.

I take pity on Sonic girls, and tend to give 50-100% tips.... but at Sonic, that's never more than 5 bucks, so what's the big deal?

There is not one in New Jersey... But I lived in Nashville for five years... and I go back to visit family often.

Waiters get paid less than minimum wage because they work for tips, basically.

Yeah 0% sales tax is nice but property taxes are through the roof!
