I haven't thought of mine as slow since 1996 when I got my P133. Before that, I was trying to run Windows 95 on a 486SX/33 with an upgraded 8MB of RAM. It was sooooooo slow.

The first pc I ever had was 7mhz, the first computer (Apple) was 1mhz... so my 900mhz tbird is plenty fast.

Strangely though I still think my DSL is slow, even though I used to have a 300 baud modem. :p

only on occasion, but then it isn't as much processor speed as it is ram. my 1 gig tbird is fast enough, but when trying to open that 600 meg picture of the world, 512 megs of ram didn't seem to cut it :(

I like mine how it is right now. Don't have the urge to upgrade it right now. I'm really loving my Radeon DDR card right now more than I did last year even :Q The Multimedia Center is awesome.

Not at all.

However, I'll always be frustrated at the slow speed of harddrives.

My feeling is that new software is slower than old software. :Q

Time is coming up to replace the Celery @500 but it is still just as quick as when I got it.

Yes. DivX coding goes at 12 fps (~2 times longer than film's duration) :(
I'd like a 2-4 times faster computer.

Oh my stars!! All that connected to a 56k! That's gotta be a pain. You musn't be able to get broadband in the area I presume?

He doesn't know yet what it will OC to, so right now it's still a 1600.

But there is no broadband where he is.

Only when I'm doing heavy Photochopping or audio editing. Other than those, 900mhz T-bird seems to be enough (note: I don't play games).

Correct yet again, Mr. Man. No broadband at all. :( But the thing is that there's a Verizon office all of six blocks from my house. If you keep going, maybe 10 blocks past that, I have a cousin who's got DSL. :|

I still use my laptop w/ a 450MHz K6-2+ in it.... great for websurfing. LCD's are so much easier on the eyes than CRT's. The only thing I use my 1138MHz Celeron for is Photoshop and SETI.

Not really.

It takes my computer about 40 seconds to rip and encode one song @192kpbs using EAC and Lame. It would be nice for it to take less time, but I think that's acceptable. As for surfing and what not, it's pretty much overkill.
