It's the most plausible explanation for the incessant whining from posters like Gayner and froot-loops...aka Tridentboy.
 
I think whatever it is, it's some sort of metaphysical manifestation that the human mind cannot comprehend so it interprets it as "aliens". It's the same force that people once interpreted as angels or fairies hundreds of years ago.
