Poll: Do you smoke? Were you breast-fed?

I'm wondering how much of an impact nursing really has on us later in Life. I think I always had a bottle, and I smoke like a fiend. I'm sure Freud had some theory about this, but I don't put no stock in dead people, as Huck Finn would say.

Can we get a section on this forum for serious intellectual and philosophical debates?

I dont think it has anything to do with whether or not you were breastfed. Thats retarded.

I do think it has something to do with influence, mainly by parents and the environment you grew up in.

I wouldnt say so, for myself. I've never tried the gum or patch, but if I could get nicotine some other way I'm sure I'd be just as satisfied.

I'm the exact opposite, I'd rather just have a cigarette in my mouth than smoke it...I guess it's the routine and physical movement of smoking that I use as a crutch.

I guess it doesn't have to be just smoking, either, but any physical compulsion. Like the fact that I want to grow my hair out so I can put it in my mouth.

p.s. no I'm not embarrassed to talk about stuff like this...humility is a good thing

I wonder if there was a time in the past when the medical community thought bottle feeding was sufficient...I think that that physical, nurturing, sensory contact is important. What if my mom was all high strung when she was pregnant with me? How much of an effect does that have on a fetus?
