[POLL] - Do you shut down your computer when not using it?

If your computer is not being used and is totally idle (no torrents downloading, no SETI, etc.) and won't be used for hours (while you are at work, over night, etc)... Do you shut down the computer or leave it running all the time?

I shut it down if it won't be used for extended periods...say a week or more.

it's only off when I need to upgrade/clean, power issues, or an extended vacation. I think last time my computer was off was in like August. In fact, my last logon date was 10/02/2005....I'm aiming for 2 months before I reboot

I turn them on when I get home from work and shut them off when I go to bed except for the machine I use as a PVR. It stays on if there is something I have set it to record overnight.

Yeah, most of the time, I turn it off. My desktop, anyway. My laptop is on all the time except on the way to and from work. I use it to listen to music while I'm working and I leave it on AIM since it's the best way to contact me when I'm at home. So the laptop is on all the time, but the desktop is on and off as needed. Most of the time, though, it is on since I'm doing one thing or another.

If I turn it off the Chipset fan will make horrible noises for hours before it gets down to reasonable levels again...... yeah I know I shuld change it.

Desktop + LCDs go into power saving settings after 30 min.
