Yeh, but if you could get everything in that list under the same roof, and for cheaper, why would you really go anywhere else? (outside of ethical/personal reasons?)

The superwalmart is 5 mintues from my house. Everything else is...well further.

Its worth it to me to pay the extra 5 cents just so I don't have to go into Walmart.

Walmart is the devil.

Shop Kmart instead.

Seriously, walmart came into a small town north of here and ran out all the competition, then raised their prices. Now its as expensive as the mall. Competition is necessary, dont let walmart run your town!

I hear some places in northern america wont let walmart move into thier towns.

The Kmart here was turned into a super Kmart so it is nice. Also have a Target, so no wal-mart.

man I hate that place. I got out of my way to avoid going in there... There's a Super WalMart almost directly across the street from my office and I still drive all the way into town to get stuff when I am on my way home! I just can't stand going in that store. What a waste of space!

They have managed to kill off almost all the K-Marts and a lot of the grocery stores (except Publix and Kroger) all around the south side of Atlanta. Plus, the few times I do go in there, it's when I get off work if I'm working night shift, just becasue they are the only ones still open. Now they don't have cashiers at all... Just that damn self-checkout thing and there's always a line of illiterate hicks that can't figure out how to push the buttons on the screen!

I won't shop at that evil place. When a giant corporation like that is making moral judgements all the tim such as banning certain musicians you know you've let them get too powerful.

There's too many reasons to list not to shop there, but for one thing they come into towns and run smaller companies that would serve the same needs out of business. Now you have a bunch of people working at Walmart for low wages and no healthcare that could have been working at the businesses that were destroyed.

For more info check walmartwatch.com.

I do most of my shopping at a strip of locally owned stores within walking distance from me.

I Hate Walmart too.
Their bathroom is very dirty. One time I used their bathroom and the wall is covered with gravity, no soap and no paper towel. Their employees know nothing. It is very loud shopping there.
Have you ever noticed all those PA blaring all the time calling on employees, information, and customers. It is very very annoying. It feels like shopping in the war zone. Why can't they copy Target by giving each employees
their own walkie talkie?
Try returning something there, and it is a pain in the butt.
Always long line, Always Walmart.

Same here. Not sure what you guys mean by the stores are "dirty". I would think that would be a regional thing. Up here in NH, there aren't many things open late, and they just built a brand new Super Walmart up here that's very clean, and it doesn't get very busy late at night. Also, they have a ton of cameras on all the light poles so I feel safe parking my car there.

Dunno, but it's a convienent place to get general household items, and the prices are great. The Target stores up here suck, and you need to be a member to shop at Costco don't you?

Rarely, not for anything important. Here in San Jose, CA, the store is so picked over by the low income people it's not worth risking your health going in there. :(

Back in Ohio when we visit relatives though, Wal-Mart

We have Kmart, Walmart, and Target in the area... and I'd say in the order of most clean/customer friendly:

Target --> Walmart --> (Super) Kmart

Kmart has a mile and a half to go before their store looks anywhere as clean and organized as the other two.

Best prices for household stuff.
Might even find a hot deal.
Definetly a no brainer.

Meijer for about anything.
Kroger for food.

WalMart is teh 3v1l!

kyutip, oh yeah. It is VERY loud in those stores. My nephew work the photo studio at one of the stores here and when he calls there's always some insanely loud announcement going on. They have something like 24 checkout lanes but I've never seen more than 4 open at once. And three of those are down near the grocery side so if you are buying something from the non-grocery side, you have 1 checkout lane that's filled with every trailer park reject who's trying to say "the sign said it was $4.79, why is it ringing up $4.83?" It's FOUR FREAKIN PENNIES!

And, then, after having gone thru that lone checkout lane, you're stopped by an 83 year-old retiree demanding to see your receipt for the two items in your bag you just purchased. Dude, you just FREAKIN saw me in the checkout lane!!

Done w/that store...forever!

Whew....I feel much better.

Seems to depend on the Wal Mart, some I really hate to go in, some aren't so bad.

The ones that really irritate me are the ones that seem to attract customers that are rude as hell, the Wally Worlds in the suburbs seem a lot more pleasant...

I refused to leave a Wal Mart check out line for ~45 minutes about a year ago because they kept blowing me off on a simple price match, they finally caved (because I was right:D)...
