I had one of those scholarships that paid for everything, which is bad in the sense I had to go back to buy the books I really wanted.

I really, really, really want to sell them back (out of state is burning a hole in my wallet)

On the other hand, I'm also really, really, really lazy.

If they give me anything worthwhile, I'll sell it back. A lot of books I buy are int'l edition and are cheap to begin with so I keep them.

Sell them while they still have some value. I kept a couple and they got superceded before I used them. Keeping them is a waste of time and space.

I never sold them back because the bookstores would give you a few pawltry dollars per book and then mark them for resale at about 80% of new so I figured I wasn't going to reward the damn theives. This was quite a few years ago though also and I wasn't poor anyway so it wasn't an issue for me at least.

I just finished my first semester. I dont understand why I would need to keep them. I doubt I will ever go back to read them. I guess I will try to sell what I can.

I'm a physics major, so I keep physics and math books. I'll also keep interesting fiction or history books if I didn't get a chance to read them all the way through during the semester. Other than that, I sell them back.

I'll sell if the book was for a class I didn't care about or if I feel that the book won't be benefical in the future, otherwise I'll save it for reference.

Good point. I TRY to keep engineering/physics/math books, and I don't really care about my lit/history/philosophy books but those are usually so beatup that I can't really sell them.... loss of money for me =P

I keep most of my books, they're good for when I need to go back and read simpler concepts in order to better understand the more advanced ones. I also don't have that many other books, so at least it doesn't look like I'm completely uncultured when someone looks at my bookcase...

They have to offer me at least 50% if they want my book. I almost killed the book cart people today when they offered me 10$ and 15$ respectivley for a book that I just got from them for 120 at the begining of the semester :|

That is exactly why I never sold my books back. They give you $10 then mark it up to $100. They are thieves, simple thieves. I sitll have all of my textbooks stored at my lakehouse. They are pretty old now so I am going to stage a book burning next time I am up there in a week or two to have some fun and clear some space.

i plan on keeping....for future reference

i think ive spent £300 odd maybe more on text books and software for my course. infact it will be more

matlab and solid edge came to £100.

then i have 5-6 books all at least £40 each
