Poll: Do you purchase "Limited/Collector's Editions" of DVD/Video Games?

So, do you do you purchase "Limited/Collector's Editions" of DVD/Video Games? If so why, considering these days, there is not any inherent value in them? 😕

Anyway, I do have some LEs but I only got them due to being the same price as regular (using coupons at Gamestop for example)

I used to w/ DVD movies, not anymore. What a waste of money. I never buy special edition games, the junk that comes w/ the game gets thrown in the fun for 5 min pile.

Usually not, but my son just bought Fable II for the Xbox 360 and he got the limited edition because there was some added game content and this was the only way to get it.

SOME (very few) games are worth some good money due to being LE, but now that it seems every game has an LE or CE edition, they aren't worth it anymore.

I think Metal Gear Solid Subsistence LE is worth a good amount now, around $85

no. i guess DVDs i often get the 'special edition' but that is because often the 'special edition' is the only edition.

Some companies used to include some nice goodies in their special edition boxes but I don't think you see much of that any more. Nowadays it's usually a CD of game music, walkthrough guide and a few other nick knacks, not worth it.

Well don't feel bad -- I got mine online from TRU, great price ($48 for LE) but it hasn't even shipped yet :|

I never do, and im glad i didnt for Gears 2 because I was thinking of getting it. I live in Canada and apparently up here the hardcover books that came with the LE only came in French HAHA.

I don't play videogames anymore and if I want to watch a movie I watch it on TV, rent it, stream it, or borrow it off of someone who has it.

I bought the limited edition Warcraft 3 Collectors Set, which came with an art book, lithographic prints, game music CD, and DVD of all in-game cinemas- all nicely wrapped in a leather-bound box. that was well worth the extra $10 I paid over the standard retail game 🙂

I almost NEVER buy DVD's...but I have a couple of video games from the far past that were collector editions. Got them for less than the normal version of the game sold for, and all the crap that came with them MIGHT still be in my "computer junk" closet.
