I dont drink milk, but I eat the yogurt that my mom makes from it and the yogurt made with skim has no taste. The yougurt made with whole milk is awesome and yogurt made with 2% milk tastes pretty good and this is what we use most of the time.

Might I ask what Organic Milk is? From my birth until just about a year ago I drank nothing but fresh cows milk (guess it would be whole). I live on a farm and we had a couple of cows. We had to clean, milk, and feed the cows all by hand. (milking was not to fun, but I got to the point where I could milk a cow alone in under 20 mins.) Yep, that pure unpaturized milk had the best taste (unless it was not cleaned properly, then we had to throw it out). But like I said, about a year ago our last milking cow died so no more fresh milk for me 🙁.

btw, warm cows milk does not taste right. It is just the right temprature that it tastes gross, warm it up or cool it down, but I cant stand it that fresh.

how much do new cows cost?

Whole milk. No-one else in my family drinks it so I have to make sure that they have a couple gallons of it at home when I visit.

I dont know much about the pricing of cows. But I believe that it is around $300 for a good heffer (sp?). The market changes as well, if I remember right the prices are up this year for cows. They are a pain to keep fed though, expecially in a remote aria like where I live. You either grow your own hay or you buy it from a local seller (Which can be pretty expencive). This year (for us) you could not count on pasture for food as it has been expecially dry. Hope that was more info then you needed to know 🙂. BTW if you are thinking of buying a milk cow, be prepared to fix a lot of fences, they like to run through barb wire fences and rub on any other until it breaks. Electric work well, but they are hard to manage, (fun to get a someone that does not know about them to pee on the wire 😀)

Where's my "soy" option? I know it's not "real" milk, but I'm slightly lactose intolerant and only use milk to eat cereal, and thus soy "milk" works best for my needs.

It's good, but I know it's not the best for you. When I buy milk, I buy soy milk. 🙂

Why isn't it?

Of course, don't release your natural skepticism. I'm not sure if I believe all that yet.

I do know, though, that sometimes I get gas when I drink milk.

notmilk.com is a combonation of fact and fiction, while it is true that some people become lactose intolerant (get gas when eating/drinking dairy products). It is treatable. Further more, studies have shown time and time again that some milk in the diet is healthy.
