my grandfather has one that's 30+ years old that he used every day when working construction. it holds heat almost as well as mine does.

I think ALL aluminum bottles are coated with something. This one I have from REI is coated with plastic. Otherwise it's identical to fuel bottles in the same shape. It's got two dents though.
