I've been a metalhead all my life. I love my music loud. Been to dozens of concerts and always jam to my music turned up really high. I'm in my mid-20's now and I know I don't hear as good as I used to. I definitely have some hearing damage.

i like it fairly loud, but not super loud. i always wear earplugs at shows and when i play guitar at band-volumes. gotta save that precious hearing.
i can't. i have a lot of scarring in my ears and anything loud bothers them. besides, if you have a great sound system, you don't *need* to listen to music loud!
Heh.. I do that already "because it is illegal to publicly play a CD according to the RIAA".. not.. Actually, I just turn it down usually so as not to annoy.
I heard that subwoofers playing loud really do not cause much hearing damage because the energy isn't so focused as high-pitched music.
I like rock myself, but I usually set the curve up so that only the bass drum part bangs hard.
