Do you listen to music to make you fall asleep? And if so, what do you listen to?

I do if I am not sleeping in my own bed, but if I am, I just watch TV.

And when I do listen to music it is usually something like STP, or incubus.

Sometimes.

I used to more often before I lived with my wife. Now if I want to, I just pull out the iPod.

All I ever listen to is my girlfriend breathing. Or sometimes her heartbeat depending on how we're sleeping. In some sense, that is music to me. :)

I hope my gf feels the same way about my obnoxious snoring :)

Sometimes. It really helps when it's time for finals and I'm wound up so tight that I can't just lay down and fall asleep.

Usually, no. I do have an electric windchime that I often have going.
When I do, it's usually Mike Oldfield, John Tesh, Seamus Egan, etc.
Or I'll be listening to Echoes on my local PRI affiliate station.

Sometimes. Drum and bass puts me right to sleep when I lay down. Groove Armada's Goodbye Country, Hello Nightclub is great for that too, as well as the Verve Remixeds, any Thievery Corporation, either Digable Planets CD, and surprisingly, Kanye West's College Dropout.

But I don't make a habit of it.

I fell asleep with my headphones on once and I woke up to a dream of me drowning in a lake. In reality the cord of my headphones wrapped around my neck and got pulled tight... scared the sh!t out of me. I don't do that anymore...

I used to, and I also used to sleep with a fan blowing on me. I've weaned myself off of both so now I don't have trouble sleeping in situations where I don't have them.

Yes. Music can create some wonderful dreams. I listen to ambient-style music at times during naps (ie. Air, Aphex Twins)

Then theres the time when i'm drunk or high and I listen to good ol' psychedelic stuff like x-dream, s.u.n project, c.o.p or more ambient style music, soma sonic, hooverphonics, etc.

It makes sleep so much more soothing.
