Poll: Do you like Domino's Pizza?

I live in the deep south which means that while we have lots of good food, we are stuck with mediocre pizza at best. In my town especially, the only option for a long time was Domino's. A New York-style pizza place just opened up and it's about 80% as good as a "real" New York pizza (we have very soft water and they don't have a brick oven). I figured the place would be busy as hell, but it hasn't been.

So my question is, do you actually like Domino's Pizza? I mean, this new place should run them out of business here.

Edit: Yeah, the new place closed on April 24th. That was... fast.

Thier pizza sucks but their sandwiches are pretty goood.

Of all the National pizza chains, I think Papa John's is the best.

However, there's almost always a real new york style Pizza place nearby that is way better.

Domino's is probably infinitely more "convenient" for most of the fatasses in your town. That, and they're used to it.

It costs Domino's ~ $1 tops to make one of their non-food pizzas, so the cost is super cheap to "feed" a family. Add in that you don't have to get off the couch but to answer the door, and it's tough for superior quality restaurants to compete with mega-chains.

It's alright. You can't beat the 5-5-5 deal, and seeing as how it's the only place near me that's open late, it's not bad.

I live in NJ, where we have better pizza than pretty much any other area of the country. I like Dominoe's Pizza, but only as an occasional break from local pizza places. I get the thinnest crust. Yes it has a texture that resembles matzohs, but I like it. I also like Papa John's thinnest crust.

We have so many great pizza places here, and I get pizza from them the majority of the time. Every once in a while I have a hankering for chain pizza, and I'm not one of those pizza snobs who refuses to eat chain pizza.

this, but my "local" place (a 30 minute drive) closed. 🙁

WTF? Papa John's large pizza is what, slightly less than $15? And it's nothing near "large".

Dominoes sucks. I've lived my life by the adage that there's no bad pizza, but Dominoes has made me question my faith several times :^D

I'll eat there if I have to, but that's a damned rare circumstance.

PJ Coupons

That and Dominos and PJ's large is the same size last I saw.

True, but you can get THREE pizzas for $5 EACH, whereas PJ is $10-15. PJ is good, but I would take Dominoes or either of the two dirt cheap places by me first.

Every chain in the country will have different quality food in different parts of the country. After all they have different suppliers and in some cases different owners. Some owners cut corners. When I lived in Florida there were some areas where Dominoes was best and 100+ miles down the road Pizza Hut was. Where I live now there are no pizza chains, only the mom & pop type shops.

Definitely need coupons to get a good deal at a chain. I believe PJ, Pizza Hut and Dominoe's all have 14" "large" pizzas; at most NY style pizza places, a large is 16". That may have been what he was referring to.

Its hard to fuck up a pizza, I had meatball pizza last night from First Class Pizza, still have 2 more slices left for tomorrow.
