POLL: Do you lie to end relationships?

Do you tell the person you are breaking up with a totally different reason (which should, but usually doesnt, make them feel better) when you break up with them.

Or do you just come out and tell the real reason why it's not working out

When I broke up with my last g/f, I told her that a relationship isn't good for me right now, since I work 2 jobs and going back to school, not to mention that her schedule would render us not being able to see each other as much. There were other reasons, like her sketchy attitude and her "blue balling" me time and time again (no sexual fidelity), but I didn't get into those. So no, not really. I just leave stuff out that I don't find detrimental to discuss. Unless that g/f is a complete bitch or something

I've used the "It's not you, it's me." line a few times. Of course, I told it to men who had just asked me out on dates, but that's not the point.

Nah, in all seriousness, I've used the "I'm not interested in a relationship right now" line. Once a girl gave me her number (was grabbing dinner with two of my friends and she was a friend of one of them) and I gave it back. I think I just said something like "I probably won't call."
