I leave both my computers on 24/7. I just hate restarting. When i want to use it, I just turn on the monitor and do my thing. Turning the computers off and on gets annoying.. ;)

My main system makes too much noise (5 case fans, soon to be 6) and is too expensive (Ca power), but my router never gets shut off.

I leave it on 24/7. electricity is a little high but it isn't too bad when you have to split the bill with 3 other roomates. (They too leave their computers on!)

My computer hasn't been off for more than a half hour in the past year at least.

Nope, turn it off at night or if I'm going to be gone more than 2 hours.

Never ever turn it off.
None of my machines have seen downtime in the past 5 years.
Except of course for power outages and upgrades and such.
Networking OSes are not made to be shut off.

I leave my computer on all the time (except for the occasional reboot). After a while you really have to restart, because the system gets really wierd.

I'd like to keep mine on, but it makes too much noise (dual celeron) and the room gets kinda hot.

the system i am typing on stays on all the time, unless i go on vacation, them my dad just pulls the plug without telling me....:| (win2k does NOT like that.....) The system I am typing on is actually in a drawer under my bed, with no case. It uses about 60 watts in its idle state with the monitor off. The harddrive has about 6 towels over it which really drowns out the niose it makes. I have a fan rigged so that air flows through to cool it. As far as the processor, I took a heatsink and a 12volt fan and hooked the fan up to a 4.5 volt power supply, so it is very quite. I can do this without overheating because I am using a K6-3 400, which creates little heat. The power supply is also very quite.

My power system, duron 650 and radeon LE, stays off at night most of the time. It is in the living room, so it wouldn't bother me when I sleep, but there is no point in leaving it on.

I never turn it off for a few reasons...

1) because I run it as a server

2) I like it to crack at rc5 when its bored

3) Its annoying to have to wait 30 seconds for startup all the time
