Cable, but it kind of sucks because the past month we've been having trouble with it skipping (audio) or just going digital (picture). They keep saying their fixing it but it progressively gets worse afterward.

Only when I left home and go to school and live on my own have I had cable. And I say thank goodness, I didn't grow up watching MTV and crap like that.

I have all three.

Satellite for most channels,
Bare bones basic cable for a couple of local channels
and antenna for the one local HD channel.

Where is the option for me in this poll?

You would fall under 'Other'. I could put down an option for people who like to waste money and buy both, but I decided not to because I didn't realize so many people fall into that category. I suppose you have your reasons though.

How is it a waste of money to get basic cable ($10/month) for your local channels? That's what MOST Sat subscribers have to do, because the satellite services do not carry locals in most markets.

With an antenna, I can only recieve two local channels. That leaves 4 that I need cable for. And neither DirecTV nor Dish offer locals in my area.

You'll find that a considerable amount of people have basic $10 a month cable for locals, and satellite service.

Hell, FIVE fscking people in this thread have already stated they have both cable and Sat.

So, now that you understand (I hope) why not add an option that says: "Combination of two, or all three"?

Had to have cable so i could watch ESPN, ESPN2, Fox Sports, and Foxsports West, and TNT occasionally for NBA.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you. That's why I added the last sentence about you having your reasons. I appologize.

I decided to add a "none" option. I realize it's a bit late for this, but for those of you holding out...here's your chance.

We didn't have cable or satellite for a loooooooong time. However, I finally caved in. I couldn't afford to miss E!'s fashion shows, Talk Soup, VH1's Bio episodes, and the Discovery Channel's prosecutor's case files, anthropology and nature.

I just read an article that said that 75% of all households do not use broadcast TV anymore. I know that I do. We don't have cable or sat. or anything because we don't watch that much TV. What about you guys?

Baby, I'm in the same boat as you. I don't watch enough TV to justify paying for cable or satelite. Don't have the time, really. If I had cable or Sat. I'd be tempted to watch more. I'm already watching all the TV I can justify. Someday I want HDTV, but no time soon. Right now I have antenna on the roof. Around 10 years ago we had cable and I found that the picture on most channels was nowhere near as good as the ones I got from this same antenna. I used to complain to the cable company - plenty of times - and sometimes they'd improve things one way or another, but the picture still never got near the quality as what I got from my rooftop antenna. I therefore hooked up an A/B switch so I could go from cable to my antenna for my local stations. Maybe cable's gotten better, don't know, but I'm sure not going to fork over the bucks to find out. Antenna's not so bad because the reception's pretty good and I get 9 good stations (actually more like 13 or 14, but I don't watch 3 or 4). No NBC affiliate where I am these days, but so what?
