POLL: Do you have any performance mods on your ride?

Do you have any performance mods on your car/truck? I have headers, K&N air filter, flowmaster exhaust....cant remember what else.

How about you guys?

yeah, I duct taped a hair driyer under my hood, put it on cool air only, and ran the cord off my cigaretty lighter, pushing 275 hp at the wheels on my accord 😀 Oh I almost forgot the stickers, lots and lots of stickers....

IMO, the following don't count as performance mods:
Neon
Fat rims
Spoilers
Aero Kits
Clear windows
Custom matching interior
Driving jacket that matches custom interior
Exhaust tips
Decals
Hoochie chick in front seat
Spiky hair

nothing, though when i find out what the little plastic thing coming out of my airbox is(i think it's some sort of air silencer) it's going, should let my little engine breath better(2.4L 4cyl DOHC) problem is, figuring out how to remove the thing has been a pain in the as$. Anyone have a GM 4 cylinder that knows what i'm talking about?

not yet, give me 3-4 months 😉

yeah, it's a royal PITA to remove, it's the resonator (i think), makes your car more silent

friend removed it from my old civic for me, really big PITA

Do you see a big improvement in the driving compared to how it felt off the lot?

for my explorer:
k&n filter
flowmaster exhaust
engine bored over to 308 (from 305) 😛

spent most of my money on stereo, planning on tucking some 20s underneath or throwing some big tires and a phat lift underneath. Still debating.

-=bmacd=-

Yup, I got a pertronix electronic ignition to replace my points.

Watch out stock civic owners! This 6.4 liter can beat you by, a... little bit, now.

Oh, and i got turbo mufflers too!

i can't even see where this one ends up(somehwere along the fender i think) because the windshield washer resevoir is right over it :| one of these days i'll get it up on the hoist at school and see if i can yank it off somehow

Don't currently have a car.. But you can bet I will when I get one. 🙂

This is my current ride. 😉

Currently it has a high performance big bore carb (Walbro WA-167), velocity stack, K&N airfilter, and a tuned 2-cycle racing pipe. 🙂

Stock max speed: 23mph.

Current Max speed: 35mph. 😀

98 Mustang GT

K&N Air Filter
Shaved custom aluminium heads
Headders
**lb hr (Got my tricks. 😀) injectors
Recalibrated MAF
P225 50 R16 all 4 wheel conversion (Dayton Z rated)
Extrude honed intake
**mm Throttle body with stock housing
Indexed spark plugs
Strange locking spool (Not installed yet... that is for the weekend)
Custom programmed chip
Lunaiti cam
Modified dual exhaust
LOTS of tweaking

I won't say specs or what it can/can't do, because it is a sleeper, but I will say I have to run it on 91 octane minimum, it will haze the tires on command, and my stock Posi Track rear is shot. Plans are in design right now for either nitrous or a supercharger, I haven't decided which yet.

roflmao😉 Yeah, they're actually pretty cool. They're legal here in Oregon now, so we don't get hassled by the police anymore. Mine is a pretty "low end" model, as far as they go. They have scooters all the way up to 52cc that will go 45+ with performance mods..

Some other Decked out scooters

The people from Portland are the people I hang out and ride with. 🙂 Rick's girlfriend, is my girlfriends mom. lol...

My next project is to replace the current 1.7HP, 33cc 2-cycle Korean made engine with the new Honda GXH50. 🙂 2.5HP, 50cc, 4-cycle. I can't wait! 😉

Specs for those even mildly interested..

Keyang model KY-171
33cc
1.7HP @ 7000rpm
1.30ftlbs @ 5000rpm

Honda model GXH50
50cc
2.5HP @ 7000rpm
2.31ftlbs @ 4500rpm (1.80ftlbs @ 7000rpm)

p.s. How much did you spend?

The rest of you can answer too 🙂

Here is a collage of several pictures of my ride. The top photos show what I've done thus far and the bottom photos are factory. I kept the resolution pretty high on the pic (1024x768); this is a warning to those on dialup. Mungla's Ride

Mods you say? Here is a somewhat complete list of what I've done:

Installed running/brake bulbs in the empty rear sockets; DRLs up front
Sigma BC800 sport computer
Dynojet Jetkit: 110# mains; e-clips 5th position; 18mm floats; idle mixture 2 turns.
K&N Airfilter pods #RC-1822
Muzzy Exhaust System
Galfer SS brake lines; Galfer "Green" Brake Pads
Pro-Flo Clipons & Pro Grip Model 699 Gel Grips
Metzeler ME330/ME550; 130/90V-16 rear and 110/90V-16 front
Progressive Fork Springs ; EX500 rear shock

The upgraded rear shock recently blew a dampening seal, so I'll be replacing it with a Works Performance shock soon. I'll also be purchasing a fender eliminator kit next week; I considered the fender mod a low priority. Eliminating the fender will make the bike look totally different; the back-end will look like it should. 🙂

Well, actually, spoilers, exhaust, and aero kits have the potential to improve performance. You just have to find the non-rice ones. The ones that are made for performance. 🙂 Nothing like a front spoiler (under the bumper) on a 260Z to add 200lbs of down force @ 60mph 🙂
