Do you have a DVD Burner in your home PC? Or one of your home PCs that you have access to? Just curious what the saturation rate is these days.

I have a Lite-On 4x thing from BF a few years ago and it works great.

I have a 4x Super Drive in my Powerbook and a 16x NEC 3540 in my desktop.

i have problems with dvd-rom drives....seem to be crappying out on me on my second burner. 3rd dvd rom

Yep. It's a necessity for back-ups. No way you can beat 215gb back-ups on quality media for $20 plus the initial cost of the burner.

Yes... My primary machine has one, my wife's laptop has one, and when my laptop gets here, it will have one too.

I got one of the NEC 3520's a while back when their price bottomed out. It will burn virtually any type of optical disk known to man.

I have none but I'm open to recommendations. I know about the NEC 3540 and the BenQ 1640, any others to consider?

i haven't bought a burner or dvd player or plain old cdrom in a couple years

so yes, when i buy a new 5.25" drive, it will be a dvd burner, but the ones i have still work
