Good money here is a relative term of course but I'd saying anything above 40-50k is good money. I'm seriously trying to decide if I should continue my education (currently just taking 2 English courses and have a lot more, years, to do) and finish my degree (I'm 29). Or if I should take some type of fast track diploma program and get out into the work force quickly (something like a 1-2 year programming diploma from an institution that specializes in training IT people as opposed to a general comp sci degree). My anxiety problems have been particularly had of late (horrible in the last few days 🙁 ). Just curious where the average on ATOT is. Yes I know everyone here makes over 100K a year by 21 and dates super models.

*By degree I mean at least a BA or BS from a university. A diploma or other form of post secondary education does NOT count for the purposes of this poll even if it helped you to land an amazingly well paying job. This poll ONLY refers to a university degree. NOTE the degree you have doesn't have to have anything to do with the job you are currently in. You could have a BA in philosophy and be doing IT, that WOULD still count here.

**By good money I'm talking more than $45k per year. You may vote yes if you are close to but not quite this if you are likely to ramp up to more later on.

Of course. We're ATOT people, we all have high demand post-secondary degrees and clear 7 figures. A month!

BS + MS = good money here.

Even BS would give u good money here. The hardest part is not the degree, its getting your foot in the door and that 1st job. Assuming u perform well you should be ok.

I would say I'm making good money, especially since I just got my degree (business admin) less than a year ago and it was paid for by the company. Not using the degree in it's fullest in my current position, just waiting for more opportunities to open up.

i will say yes but only after 2 years of experience (ie did not make good money out of college)

i will also say that the power of networking > power of degrees

I have a BA, and it was essential in getting me started. Many companies that I wanted to work for wouldn't even interview a person without a degree.

I have also seen a lot of people be very successful with a 1 or two year program from BCIT, such as their civil technologist program.

Education is never a bad thing, but it is important to understand what your career goals are, and make sure the education will help. There is no value in a BA in psychology or philosophy.

i'm making pretty good money.

i was very close to dropping out of school after my freshman year of college. now that i look back, i'm SSSSSOOOOO glad i did not. there really is no way I could have learned how to program and code without doing it. now i am a software developer and make pretty decent money.

i'm only in my 2nd job out of school and stayed at my first one for 5 years. looking back, i would have jumped jobs quicker than 5 years because my pay did not really grow at my first job. i also did not learn any new technology while there.

before i graduated school my goal was to make $100k/yr before i was 30. i turn 30 this year and am not quite there yet. maybe with benefits i am, but not straight up salary. i'm still happy with where I am career wise though and really like my job right now.

I have a BS degree in computer science, not making good money but at least my loans are paid off. My wife has her doctorate in psychology and makes less than me, and owes 90k in loans.

yes and yes

i have a math degree but i'm a software developer so i would say it's more important to get out into the work force. my buddy was a geology major and he's a software developer at the new york stock exchange.

I consider my masters one of the best decisions I've made. It paid for itself before I even graduated.

However, if you're a social retard no amount of schooling is going to guarantee success. The degree only lands the interview. I believe when it comes to my own success 1/3 is my degree, 1/3 is my skill/personality, 1/3 is my contacts.

I have a degree and making fantastic money. The reason why it's not so fantastic is because of the damn student loans it took to pay for it. When they are gone however, I'll be sitting pretty damn well.

Not a social retard here. Well with women I am. I am NOT the stuttering pimple faced nerd that I might seem. I can hold my own and seem very confident and knowledgeable if I need to. I'm just a fucking emotional mess.

Bachelor of Arts in history and political science with a post graduate certificate in journalism. I make under $25,000/yr. I'll admit it though I'm embarrassed about it. I still live at home because I can't afford a safe apartment to live in. I work two jobs, one unpaid. First pays the bills, the other pays experience. Job prospects for most Ontario grads are in the toilet right now. If you don't have a friend of a friend, you're fucked.
