well, let's have it. it's been quite a whle since the supposed problem of VIA 686B south bridge and Creative Live! sound card combination was discovered.
Did you have problem with your set up? If so, were you able to fix the problem?

But I don't use the IDE controllers...

And the VIAPFD.SYS file that's the fix (I think) for it actually induces click/pops on my Live, so I don't have that loaded, but I do have the VIA 4in1 drivers loaded.

I don't use ACPI. The Live has it's own IRQ that is not shared with anything. I'm running Windows 2000 with the WDM drivers and Liveware 3.

i had problems and switched to santa cruz

Then two more follows will be

1)Problem fixed
2)No, why did I even think it will work in the first place

😛

well, I don't think I would go for live! judging by the above result. i already have 686b mobo...
I made an order for Turtle beach santa cruz 🙂

I started off with occasional crackling for certain sounds running Windows XP and then updated to latest Audigy driver and it fixed it.

Is there an option for "no problem with eiter Live! or Audigy"? I was using Live! with no prob, then I upgraded to Audigy with no problems.
