Poll: Do you ever follow directions and close all programs when installing software?

Hell no. I sometime even have a DVD burning and defragmenting my HD during SW installs.

No. Only thing I do follow is install software, THEN plug in the perpherial.

never. i think that was a formality for systems with like 4mb of ram when the installation program actually needed to utilize all of the resources in order to install the programs. but in today's day and age, such a precaution is no longer needed so there is no need to shut stuff down.

sometimes since i have a slow computer

but i always forget to diasble my antivirus software as the nvidia driver installation guides say. But nothing bad ever happened so i always disregarded it.

I only close the programs it affects, or if it has to do with the OS, I usually close it, but half the time i think it is stupid, cause teh worst situation, updating the OS, you still have to use IE open if you are using a Windows OS. Hmmmm.........
