Usually not unless I expect it to splatter. I use the "sensor" setting on my microwave a lot that heats food based on the steam coming off of it. Works great.

wet paper towel works great.... once the food splatters, just throw away the towel! Nothing to clean. A WET paper towel won't even stick to pasta. It's great!

No, unless I'm heating stuff I expect to splatter. When needed, I use the plastic cover thingy that came with the microwave.

Only if it's going to splatter.

In that case, I use a paper plate.

A wet paper towel is THE BEST cover for reheating food. As the water gets hot, it turns to steam and helps moisten and heat the food from above.

Otherwise it is saran wrap.

paper towel is wasteful. i just use a plate, or a glass pot lid, or a plastic microwave anti spatter cover ibought.

I usually just use a dry paper towel but after reading this thread, Ima try wet paper towel. Makes more sense since my dry towel falls off sometimes.

Plastic cover I got at the store made for covering food in the microwave. Much better then killing all those trees.

Saran wrap when i'm microwave thick liquids like pasta sauce or something else i think will pop and make the woman pissed at me which in turn means I have to clean the inside of the microwave.

saran wrap is the most efficient, since microwaves specifically heat water molecules, the trapped steam heats the food much faster and doesnt dry your food out

Aren't the dyes and bleaches used in paper towels supposedly semi-toxic when ingested?

Same thing with the chemicals in plastic wrap...the chemcals leech into the food?
