Hell yes!

It's common to ring the ship's bell upon leaving the dining area to let the cook know you appreciated their hard work. When there is no bell, a loud burp will suffice. Real burps are sufficient to echo off surrounding ships and buildings when in port! That works everytime!

Farting with such force is quite risky as you may wind up with lasting results!
