Does he get called Evan? Because the stupid fvcking telemarketers call me Ian, Kevin, Even (get that a lot), Yvonne (WTF), Arvin (WTFx2) etc. Basically everything EXCEPT Evan. They usually get my last name more or less correct.

I swear, it would surprise me if many of them completed elementary school, or even know basic rules of phonics. How TF do you get any of that crap above from EVAN??

Unskilled labor + relatively high pay for said unskilled labor = low double digit IQs / borderline retards / full-blown retards working the phones :(.

No, but they always think I'm from Arkansas (I live in AK), and they mispronounce the name of my town.

My name is an uncommon Spanish last name, but if you change one letter to a letter that looks very similar you get a very common Spanish (and therefore also Mexican) FIRST name... so yeah, people always mispronounce my name.

Even a dainbramaged person knows that AK is for Alaska.

I don't think the mess it up too much, but have been called the wrong name NUMEROUS times (even most commonly...wtf is that).

Not anymore, but they used to. My first name has become more commonly known because of a famous tennis player, and my married name is longer, but much more common than, my maiden name.

My name is Evan as well and it seems to confuse the hell out of anyone who ever telemarkets me. Course I usually screech and cry on the phone to them, so I'm sure their rattled nerves are partially to blame.

I have a Safeway card that hasn't been registered, so I get all the discounts. But when the dolt at the register tries to say "Thank you" & give out my name to every fvckwad standing in my lane & the adjacent ones', they just kinda stammer... It's a good feeling.

My first name is Andrew. I really don't know how people can mess that up. Nonetheless, I'm addressed as André quite a bit... it's annoying. My mother's secretary found that out, and started calling me André instead of Andrew... when her computer suddenly stopped letting her into Excel, Word, WordPerfect, and Eudora, she called me, and said "Sorry about that.... HELP!" She's never called me anything other than the correct name (to my face) since... :D

My last name (my new one) isn't very common, so people mispronounce it *all the time*. My old name (Shriner) was mispronounced as well, though I'd love to know how people have never heard of the Shriners...
