Dunno..I used to be shy, but I'm definitely not anymore. Am I more self-confident than I used to be? I think so...so maybe.

yes they do. they will have a lot less self confidence and a lot less confidence overall. I kinda used to be a little bit shy but I went the opposite way. I raised my confidence first by getting really good at one or two things (Guitar and hockey for me). Then when people see that you can be really good at something its weird, they respect you more. now I have gobs of all kinds of confidence and i'm definetly not shy anymore. I also think thats just part of being a teenager though. it takes some people longer than others to get hte confidence thing. it brings lots of girls with it as well.

I know a whole lot of loud obnoxious people that have no self-confidence and are loud and obnoxious for that very reason.

I used to be quiet/shy, but im not anymore. Its not because i had less self confidence then.. its because i just am more outspoken/mature/informed on certain matters that i wasnt a few years ago. my confidence level is the same.

There is a definite correlation between shyness and low self-confidence. Been there, done that.

Some people are outspoken because they need to interact with others, not because they are more confident, but because they are not very confident. Some people seem shy because they are totally self reliant and don't need constant interaction with others. It's impossible to draw any kinds of conclusions concerning self-confidence just from how social a person is.

When I was shy, I lacked confidence.

Now I'm not shy, and I don't lack confidence.

So I'd say, yes.

Do were mistake quiet people for being shy?

Most people think my younger brother is shy (i am more outspoken, opinionated), but he just tends to be quiet. he is confidant in his abilities etc, but doesn't feel the need to advertise that fact to the world.

Some people don't like to talk simply because they feel they're too good for everyone else.
