My SyncMaster 150s has had no dead pixels for 3 years now. My SyncMaster 171n has a dead pixel and I'ave had it for over 1 year.

Ok , first LCD i bought was a Lg 1715S , after two days i had one DP the third day another one ( this one only lost one colour ).

Second one was a LG 1730S that came with one DP ( this one i exchanged it ), the replacement works fine until today ( about 7 months ).

Curious thing is that the LG's with dead pixels were made in UK and the fine one was made in China ( the box is red , Uk's are blue )

Samsung 710T

3 months give or take of ownership, still perfect. I turned the brightness down in also, it was pretty bright!

Dell 1702fp, purchased in 10/02 with no dead pixels so far.

It's somehow still chugging along just fine, though I would love to upgrade soon.

Samsung 191T, about a year and half old. Developed one stuck red pixel 2 days after arrival (I know it wasn't there at first since I carefully scanned every inch of the monitor with different color backgrounds to verify upon purchase). It just showed up on the third morning on boot up. No more since then.

Had an AOC monitor for about 3 years. It had 2 dead pixels which appeared the first time I turned it on. I've since given it away, but no new ones since then. Incidentally, I was trying to show my friend where they were, but couldn't find it; we had to use a black screen to see the dead pixels.

Now using an Amptron (the company I work for) monitor. Been using it for about a year. No dead pixels, although one section of the backlight is slightly dented or something (the light is inconsistent there), but I don't mind because it's only visible at certain brightnesses.

My knowledge is that dead pixels don't really appear once the little transistors have had an opportunity to fully warm up -- any pixels that haven't burned out yet probably won't.

maybe...well i had no dead pixels when i got my LCD, i had searched thoroughly looking at each last pixel. it only developed within a few months. it could be just from "abuse", though i didn't think i administered too much abuse to my LCD (yet) ;)

is cleaning an LCD with a wet paper towel a good idea? maybe that caused it or maybe i pressured the panel too much. maybe it was just stuck because a brief look doesn't reveal it where i had noticed it before.

Samsung 712N and 172N, had to exchange a few times due to geometry, bezel problems. The lower right corner of my 712N had a blotch of dead pixels after several months. I wonder if it's because I had my "shielded" speakers next to it.

My 2001FP developed 2 after about 4 months. The 2005FPW didn't get any but only had it a couple. The 2405 I used for about a month didn't have any either.

Got a stuck red pixel on my CMV CT-722D (16ms, 17" DVI+Analog), which I got in July last year. Apart from that, no complaints otherwise!
