Yep. It was amazing. Great food, great venue (Rented out a nightclub in NYC), had tons of fun.

Then went to a friends house and had a huge afterparty until we passed out at 6am.

I miss high school.

Did not exist where I went to high school. We had a graduation ceremony, then there was a dinner after for the kids, parents, and teachers, then everyone just went and did their own thing after.

I did not have any parents around so I went to the ceremony, but skipped the dinner. Then we cruised around to various house parties and got very inebriated.

I voted both no and OP is gay. He shouldn't have made a multiple choice poll.

I didn't go. I think only about half my senior class actually went to Prom and they all said it sucked.

I went with my girlfriend, her best friend and date, my best friend and his two dates. Afterwards we all went and spent the weekend in a hotel on the beach. It was pretty awesome.

I didn't, but it wasn't by choice. I actually got banned from my prom, along with a few friends, for misconduct on our senior trip. Thankfully, helping set up the after party was a lot more fun. And floating the first keg with the small group we had + the parents of the guy who was hosting before anyone showed up was a bonus.

I did go to my GF's prom with her later though.

At my HS we had a Junior/Senior Tea (I think that is what it was called). I was a Junior at the time. I wasn't going to go but this one Senior girl I had a crush on told me I should go. I didn't have a date but got a suit and everything and went. I sat at a table all night basically by myself until the last dance when a popular girl from a grade below me asked me to dance. It was most likely a pity dance. After that I had no interest in going to prom. None of my friends went to either the Tea or the Prom.

Yes, went to two.

Initially was asked out by my ex that I wanted to get back together with at the time. Later got a GF, went with her to my prom. Had a good time overall. Went to hers the following year, the writing was on the wall that the relationship wasn't going to last by then. Made it all less enjoyable.

In hindsight, probably wouldn't have bothered.

Ah, half of ATOT are sad, lonely nerds. No surprises there. Myself included of course.

A buddy of mine was the Prom director at his high school. Was telling me a story about how he smuggled booze in for the whole class by hiding it under the stage. Got away with it too. Unfortunately, nobody was that smart in my class. Half of them are probably in a trailer park somewhere. Beauty of a small town.

Didn't go to my prom. Thought the concept was lame. 2 years after graduating a female friend who was a senior asked me to hers so I did. Wasn't very fun.

Did not attend, no money. Turned down invites because there was no way I was going to say, "Well, since you asked me, I'd love to go as long as you pay for everything."

yes i went. actually went to 2 different ones.

and yeah, asking this on a forum full of computer nerds ... i'm expecting a lot of no's.

not everyone who didn't go is/was a nerd. I was actually quite popular in HS, played 3 varsity sports and such. just never had in interest in school dances or functions. prom included

carried on into college. hated formals rarely went

I did, it was fun. only went because all my friends were going, though.

I went to an all-boys school, so no one really had girlfriends. most guys either went stag or came with female friends (I went with a girl I knew from grammar school... she went to my prom as my date, and I went to her's as her date)

hmm, that 3rd option was added to see which of you I can add to my Ignore list. the whole lot of you have also been reported.
