Just wondering how many went away and how many stayed home when you went to college or what are you plans.

I personally stayed home and went to a local college, I could not afford to go away and pay for dorm fees and other expenses, but i would have wished to gone away must be lots of fun.
 
I went away for one year, and am going local this year. Then going away again.

I highly advise people to stay local for the 1st year, year and a half. All the BS core courses you have to take would be much cheaper at a CC that transfers over. I'm saving approx $26k this year by staying local.
 
I went to the college in my hometown (4-year state school, not a CC), but moved out right after high school so I didn't live at home.
 
I originally went to a local university, but after meeting my the person that eventually became my wife, I transfered away to another college where we attended together. I moved back to my home town where we got married and then she transfered to the school that I originally left. LOL
