some myths:

a) you lose sensitivity. Yeah, I guess you do, if you are like 50 years old and need to do it. Body isn't plastic enough to adapt, adjust, and build new nerves. But a child? Easily. A baby? Don't even bother to think about it. You can chop open their chest, cut open their lungs, remove a chunk of a cyst, and the baby will heal like he never had the surgery.

b) its like clitoral circumcision.....NOT. That is a fucking insult to what those girls have to go by comparing circumcision to it.

If I had a child, he'd get snipped in the first week for sure.

lol i know it could be hard for some of you circumcised fags to admit that you don't have a fully functional penis.
But I know that if I wore my underpants on with my foreskin rolled back, the sensation of the head rubbing against the cloth of my underpants would hurt like a bitch.
That, and it's well known that there's many nerve endings under the foreskin that contributes to pleasure.

Or you could just be a crybaby? There must be a lot of estrogen in that useless bit of skin they clip off for as much as you clowns cry about being sensitive "down there".

I don't want my would be son to have a stinky dickcheese penis. Let alone the ridicule he will get from women. "you want me to put my mouth on that nasty smelly fungal thing? HELL NO!"

I've always known ATOT was full of morons, but I am truly shocked at the level of stupidity in this thread. It seems to go beyond the level of stupidity I've seen in any previous threads and makes me fear for the future of mankind.

Maybe it's a psychological thing.
Do you feel insulted?
Do you have such a strong need to defend your penis, that you start just making shit up and getting all delusional?

We're having a baby in 7 weeks. We met with a pediatrician last week, and he gave us the rundown on a bunch of issues. Re: circumcision, he said about 60% of boys are circumcised these days. He also said that not getting circumcised increases young boys' chances of getting urinary tract infections by a factor of 10. However, even with that ten-fold increase, the odds of getting a urinary tract infection are just 1 in 1000. His conclusion was thus that there isn't really a strong medical reason for or against circumcision.

Wouldn't logic state that if there isn't a strong medial reason for it, that counts as a strong medical reason against it?

not really.

Seems to me to be a bad doctor.

I don't really have a strong medical reason for cutting a body part off of your baby. However, I'm not opposed to doing it either.

My son is 4, almost 5, and yes, we had him circumcised. I know it's getting popular to say that circumcision doesn't help these days, but that's bullshit. Plus, uncircumcised is hideous, IMO.

Oh and LOL at people saying you lose sensitivity. If mine was any MORE sensitive, it'd be ridiculous. I wish it was less sensitive. Maybe that's the case for people who get it done as adults, but not as children.

I don't think you're thinking this through.

Creepy.

What exactly does circumcision help? Seriously, be prepared to answer that question when your boy is older.

Looks like all the resident trolls are coming out for this one.

There is no medical reason to circumcise. Most people who do it, do it because they want their kid to look like dad and because they think he'll fit in better. Thirty years ago, a large majority of the male population (in the U.S., not in the rest of the world) was circumcised. Now, as more people have started to realize there's no reason for it, it's getting closer to 50/50.

Less likely to get dck rot, of course I would.

What is the medical definition of dick rot?
Funny, but everyone knows that an uncut man has to do more "maintenance" on his penis...or it will stink.

It's really only "more" maintenance if you hadn't planned on taking showers daily.

I am glad I was circumcised. I will have my boys circumcised, too.

As for the appearance, most women prefer circumcised penises.

How would you know?

How many uncircumcised dildos do you see for sale?

Clearly, you have never seen an erect uncircumsised penis.
If you had, you would know that they don't look much different from an erect circumsised penis.

Again, not always true. 😛

Wow obviously someone touched a nerve.

Also, who calls their boxers/briefs 'underpants'?!? Maybe you're not north american and it's a cultural thing?

You don't go camping or hiking? The idea that stanky cheese would start coming out my penis if I didn't shower every single day is pretty freaky.

Like rinse it in the shower? Are you suggesting that cut guys don't need to perform this kind of general maintenance?

And you know, if I don't wash out my arm pits or ass crack on a daily basis, those get pretty funky. Perhaps my mother's doctor should have removed those as well.

Sounds like a personal problem. 🙂

I can only speak from personal experience.

Yeah, cause that's totally what will happen.

Why do people insist on talking about things they have no clue about? You realize it just shows what a moron you are, right?

People circumcise their children to match their aesthetic preferences. Explain to me why cosmetic genital surgery on children to match a parent's preference isn't creepy. I'm looking for an honest explanation here.

I googled it. Smegma, it's a real thing and I'm glad I don't have to worry about it.

When I go camping with my gf I don't have to ask her to hand me a wet wipe to clean off my dick cheese before knocking boots.

😕

back for another round of fail?

Maybe he did the self-circumcision route and thought it meant cutting off the head of his penis.

You don't have access to water and a rag? Or a river? Women get super funky after a few days without showers, too. Why not surgery for them as well?

I've never seen cheese come out a woman's vagina when I'm camping. Maybe you hang around with a different class of chick than I do.
