I just bought NOFL. I'll tell ya if it beats out Deux Ex when I finish. NOFL was runner up to DX in PC Gamer's overall list but did win in the Action category.
 
Deus Ex most certainly deserved it. It was an excellent game and was good to play even more than once.

Baldur's Gate 2 was my favorite game of the year, although I can see how it would not be the Game of the Year if you consider innovativeness. In that case, I would say The Sims... addictive for the whole family! 🙂
 
I liked Deus Ex, but didn't LOVE it like, say Half-Life. I recommended it to friends and they liked it as well. I'm currently playing NOLF and we'll see if it's better. I certainly like the colors and voice acting a whole lot more than DE's blue-black-grey montony and flat acting.
