Poll: Dating a "practice" girlfriend

I saw that happen a lot in high school. Nerdy virgin guy finally gives up a large chunk of his self respect and goes for the sure thing with a girl who is either overweight or has some kind of other physical flaw like a bad complexion or buck teeth or something and therefore herself has given up self respect and is willing to date a guy she sees as her level rather than her dream guy. Other more eligible girls see the guy now as a datable comodity and he now has a shred of confidence and he begins working his way up until he finally lands one of those girls on the peripherii of popularity where he stays until they go to college and they split quickly and cleanly to begin several years of drunken debauchery.

I never did that. I liked who I was and if a girl I liked didn't like me for that reason then to hell with her.....I'd have no inclination to coerce her into dating me. I ended up not going on a single date in high school....skipped prom and senior ball.....homecoming was easy cause I was always playing in the game. I also believe in True Love and wanted to save everything for her....everything from sex to holding hands. But, ya, I saw it happen a lot so it's very real.

Unfortunately that hasn't worked for me, infact I believe I've always been like that, couldn't even get within a mile of one, tried the opposite and seems like it would work better but at the same time, no dice.

Man I'm an utterfailure, I feel like my mind is 80 years old and I'm getting dementia...

I only saw guys that dated people that they liked. I'll assume this and not assume they only dated someone they could hook up with and ditch them for someone else...

I only hooked up once with a girl before I was 17 😛. Then I dated an amazing girl for 4yrs from 17 onwards. I got lucky and I learnt that I'm a great guy 😛

No, I can't treat people like that.

If she liked me enough to date me, I'd give her the respect of being honest with her. So that means no jerking people around and making them feel bad.

I have a friend that does things that way, when she bitches, just ignores her and isn't bothered by it, when he first hooked up, he wasn't attracted to her at all but then later became attracted to her, it was kinda weird but I see how it goes now... They've been together for about a year, seems like hes gotten it all figured out now..
