I didn't get my HS class ring and now it's time for me to decide if I want my college class ring... I have never had a ring to wear before and don't know if its something I'd really take to. Was wondering what you guys thought... I'd have to pay for it myself
 
I have been contemplating buying one as well. I did get a high school ring, and I think I actually only wore it for 2 or 3 months. I don't know if I would wear a college ring if I got one. Seems like a waste if it's just going to sit around.
 
I never bought a high school ring, and I'd never wear a college ring if I bought it. It would only serve as a memento.
 
waste of money really...

i got HS ring because it was hyped so much... it was a waste really... i lost it throwing a football in the snowstorm.

didn't get college ring,

i do have a wedding band, so that's the most important ring i guess.

If you will wear it...get it. It's probably a little late now, but you could get a cheap ring to wear around for a couple of weeks just to see if it drives you bonkers.

Personally, I got great value out of mine. I wore my HS ring until the day I got my college ring and I continue to wear my college ring every day even 5 years later. I got it fit for my left hand and even had it resized for my right when I got married.

If you're never going to wear it, set the money you would have spent aside and treat yourself to a well-deserved $500 graduation gift that you WILL use!
 
Didn't get either, nobody I know wears them. My dad has a HS ring, it sits in a box on his dresser, along with all of the tie-pins we bought him for father's day over the years that he never wears.

I bought a HS ring and one from when I completed graduate school (Master's level). I skipped the Bachelor's level ring. I never wear either...LOL.

I'm in the same boat as you, didn't get one in high school, because my parents said that I probably wouldn't wear it for more than a few weeks (turns out they were right if my friends were any indication) I'm leaning towards no on the whole college ring idea as well though.

Class rings, both high school and college, are just ways for Jostens to make money off idiots. Kind of like the "Who's who" books. No one cares what high school or college you went to, except if you are applying for a job and they don't care about a stupid ring.
