Poll: Chili Cheese Fries vs. Poutine (Canadian)

RossMAN

Grand Nagus
Canucks: Is Poutine (fries covered with gravy topped with cheese) any good?

Chili Cheese Fries are so good but oh so bad for you, then again aren't all things that taste good bad for you?

Poutine by FAR is the better of the two.

Good gravy is key, the "Gravy Powder--Just Add Water" won't cut it.
Also, another key is using cheese curds and not just shredded mozzarella. That way you get nice blobs of melted cheese. MMMMM yummy!

If the Poutine is made right, it's mmmmmmmmmmm bleh lasifgn asgovn (cheese talk )

What does it take to make Poutine the right way?
I can see it now, Learn to speak Poutinese in just 10 minutes a day!.

How is that pronouced, poo-teen?

I've never heard anyone pronounce it but I'd say, poh-teen or maybe you are right, poo-teen just don't say poo-tang.

<< I've never heard anyone pronounce it >>

How do you order it then, just point to a picture and grunt/nod?? 😛

*chuckles* I guess so, or there must be some secret Canuck gesture which we Americans haven't learned yet, 'eh?

poutine all the way! 😀 New York Fries makes it the best IMHO 🙂 and it's actually topped with cheese curds 😛

mmm.....chili cheese fries
poutine makes me ill: maybe its cuz they takes something really high in fat (fries) add some liquid fat (gravy) and some solid mild fat (cheese)
but i still get a craving for it everynow and again.

*kat. <-- likes chili cheese fries more than poutine

Do you ever put green hot sauce on your Chili Cheese Fries? Maybe it's taco sauce or something like that.

nope, not like cottage cheese. you can usually buy packaged cheese curds at butchers(at least around here) they aren't wet and nasty like cottage cheese, they're actually quite tasty 🙂

Actually poutine gets my vote. I guess this is really a French Canadian thing....by the way, here is a link on how to pronounce it.....link

I can't help but be repulsed at the sight of poutine. i have never tried either but i guess that is due to how bad that stuff is for you. But alot of the french people up here love and i mean love poutine. I've heard it's great but i still can't get my self to ingest taht crap. 🙁

i wouldn't mind being force-fed poutine, infact, i invite the chance 😉
my mother pronounces it pout-in, trying to make a fake french accent 😛

Everybody give him a few minutes before we force-feed him a poutine

I'll videotape it then broadcast it over the web, are we ready yet?

*gets 2 pounds bag of curds*
*stirs up 60l pot of gravy*
*gets 100l container of french fries*
*pours all together*
*gets shovel ready*
😀

The only time I tried Poutine, I loved it. Unfortunately, it was at Harvey's - probably not the best source for Poutine.
