FYI - something i didnt know and was pissed to hear from a CSR

Verizon Wireless bills mobile to mobile minutes as normal minutes when they dont pick up and u get their voicemail instead.
that sucks

i've got one. "free" long distance, no-roaming on sprint's network, first incoming minute free, etc. i'd change to a new plan but i like hte long distance and no-roaming, plus all these plans now are like 5000 minutes, 50 of which can be used between 7 am and 9 pm.

Yeah i have one, and i'm very discreet with mine as well. I'll always turn it off or on silent when i enter a building, or walk outside or out of range to talk. My biggest peeve are cell phones going off in theatres and the library... ESPECIALLY if they don't take it outside and continue to talk!

I sure do, use it a lot. I still have a normal phone (well 2 lines actually at my house), but if I'm at home, oftentimes ill still use it (esp. on the nights & weekends, when its free), just cause all my numbers are programmed in there. I like it better also when my friends call it rather than my house phone, b/c my cell has caller ID and my house phone doesn't.

can't remember life without a cell phone. must have been so dull :)

Regarding paying for ring tones and logos, you better believe it. At least in Sweden it's been a service for quite some time and yes a LOT of people gladly pay about $1 for every download.

CANADIANS...go to www.me43.com. Actually, you Americans could probably go there too but it's based in Toronto so I don't know. Free ringtones, logos, ICQ and sports scores.

I've had...4 cellphones. Right now I'm using a Nokia 3390 but I'll probably get something new in Hong Kong when I go in a couple weeks.

Aye.
here, ring tones cost you ~ $0.35 US. ppl usualy do get one they like and keep it.

problem is they are ruining the good tunes for us all. Europe - The Final Countdown is such a good song, but from the overuse in cellphone rings i cant hear it any more.

I have nothing but cell-phone. No regular phone at all. I have had cell-phone for... Since 1996 I guess. First I had Nokia 1611, replaced it by Nokia 5110 and then I got Nokia 7110.

In Finland you can download ringtones for about 5fim's (one dollar = about 6.5 fims). And I have done so. I have the Imperial March from Star Wars as my ring-tone :). ANd just about everyone here does it, downloadable ringtones are really popular. The price isn't that bad. For me, I just needed that one ringtone, it's been with me since I got that phone, so paying 5fims once isn't too much if you ask me. Becides, it's a cool ring-tone, I can easily tell it's my phone ringing, and it gets attention among nerds :).

Does a TracFone count?

:)

I had one for a year (and got by nicely on 30 minutes a month) . . .

However, I just now signed up for AT&T's "local" plan (which includes all of California and Hawaii) - 400 anytime minutes and inlimited night and weekend (included free long distance and nights start at 8 pm which is better than most other plans) for $40 a month.

Since I am going to Hawaii for a 10 week (working) vacation next month, I need a cell phone. I also got the Mitsubishi T250 so I can browse the 'net at no extra charge and send and receive text messages (on a larger screen).

EDIT:

<< I need some more no's ;) >>

Then the poll should have been set up differently with "No" as the default. ;)

:)
