That link is interesting. Apparently they believe some people will be willing to pay $1 per ring tone. I am willing to state here and now that anybody who pays $1 for a ring tone on their cellphone should jump off a cliff.

I have mine set to vibrate and I go out of the room to answer my phone.
I am not sure which is more irritating....those tones or people who carry on conversations
in a loud voice with no regard for bystanders

Yep I've had a Nokia 6190 for over 2 years, the best phone on the planet unfortunately it's been replaced by a supposedly better model.

Yes but I sure as hell don't annoy people with my freaky ring tones.

I'm the same way.

Work - It's set to MEETING profile which is a discreet single beep. I have several co-workers who leave their cell at their desk, walk away from a break or lunch and their phone goes off, we have to listen to their wacked out ring tones until the call goes to voice mail which never happens because the caller calls AGAIN!

Home and Outside - Outdoor, as loud as hell so I can hear it over traffic, other people, etc. plus it's on vibrate so if I can't hear it then I can at least feel it (no, not that way perverts!).

Sleeping at home - It's set to silent so it doesn't wake me up (3 AM - uhm is Betty there?). I don't turn it off because I want to see what calls I missed.

At the movie theatre - It's set to silent.

I have a couple phones, but, no SMS capabilities for Ring Tones. I certainly wouldn't pay for the ability to download them.

Yes, but not by choice. My job requires one and I don't use it for personal use. It is pretty much used by our server monitoring software which pages me when something goes down. I don't respond to any calls unless it's my boss.

Yes, though at the moment it's deactivated.
I might be reactivating it shortly though.

I use it either on vibrate, or the quietest normal ring. No stupid songs, or other weird stuff...just a standard ring tone, and on low volume. But I usually just set it to vibrate.

Mine is always set to vibrate, and like Infos, I to be as "private" as I can if I get a call. For example, if I'm with some people eating and I get a call that I need to take I'll walk outside. I won't force everyone at the table to listen to my conversation.

The intelligence you displayed in that post makes me seriously doubt that you attend college. ;)

Argh, that is the WORST when people leave the phone! The guy who shares my office with me currently has jingle bells set and when he leaves it there when he exits the room and somebody calls it makes me go crazy.

I feel your pain. Cell phones going off, pagers going off, personal phone calls every 2 seconds, I could go on ...
