Example

Been thinking about whether getting this is better than printing on a label. I'd probably have to get a white printable media, which would be more expensive than generic media. What do you guys think?

I like the look of labeled CDs, but I never feel like going to the trouble anymore.

I have no experience with direct print on CDs, so I guess I am of no help to ya. It is a great idea though. And you wouldn't necessarily need white face media, even just solid colored(silver, gold, whatever) seems to look alright with text on it. We get those kind of discs from GE and Toshiba here at work.

I've used the Afterburner and CD Stomper labels (free from OM), but wanted to find out if a cd printer can achieve better results. Would the ink fade/melt from the heat of the cd spinning?

It's a CD not an engine block!

My Canon i865 has an attachable CD printing accessory, you do need those printable type CDs like Maxel CD-R 80 PR for example,I`ve not had a chance to use it yet being my i865 is only 2 days old,as to do you need it or not, simple answer would be it depends on if you would rather print directly to CD-PR which are a bit more expensive to buy then a normal CDR & CD marker pen, plus side is they do look look more professional then just writing with a CD marker pen.

I don`t think I`ll be using mine for awhile for CD printing.
