and i concur, i think it is soon to be time to wear asbestos pants while reading this thread!
I'm 18, and the Whiskers thing was from a Saturday Night Live skit, I didn't even remember that I said that :p. I'll be sitting on the sidelineswith some snacks watching the flamers if you need me :).

:D you told me ages ago when i you were trying to see if your rev 1.04 a7n8x might be a disguised rev2!
grab me a coke and some popcorn and i'll join ya to watch the fireworks - i note the touchpaper has been lit!

You still do not seem to appreciate that ATI is the sole author of drivers and no one else is privy to the source code and able to make changes to them.

I do understand that, and I am completely aware that any other driver except the official one,is just a modification of the source code.
I just so happen to like the Omegas for their remarkable stability and their exceptional image quality. Is that so bad?

No, I think they are trying to say that the Omega drivers are not modifications of the source code.

What they are in principle are CATALYST drivers with different settings enabled via registry keys and other such methods.
They are not my words...

The Omega drivers have absolutely no alterations to the source code.

All they are is a repackaged version of ATi's drivers with extra utilities, different settings, and possibly even mix-and-matched DLLs from previous drivers.

I go with the CATs I have used Omegas before but didn't like all the extra crap plus uninstilation is a pain with them I think...
I use mobile mod to use the CATS on my laptop too.

Just curious, what is the "mobile mod?" Yes, I Googled "ATI mobile catalyst mod." :)

Definately the official ATI cats. There are obviously reasons to use Omegas repacked ATI drivers (mobility parts for instance) but I'd always recommend using the official ATI drivers for most every other standard installation, especially if you're using an AIW or VIVO card. Never needed to go with the Omega's myself, but I do consider him quite an asset to the graphic card enthusiast community.......but lets not get too carried away with the accolades, his drivers are essentially ATI's (and 3dFX, NVidia)
